West Sound Music Teachers Association

The West Sound Music Teachers Association is a group of independent music teachers seeking to offer private instruction of the highest professional quality to students in Kitsap County, Mason County and Pierce County.  We were founded in 2000, and received our charter from the parent organization, Washington State Music Teachers Association in 2001.  We are also affiliated with Music Teachers National Association, and students receive the benefit of programs offered through both larger groups, including the state Adjudications Program, the Young Composers’ Project, and the MTNA Performance and Composition Competition.  Whether you are interested in private piano lessons or are looking for a highly-qualified instructor of organ, theory, composition, flute and more, you will find one here.

Our membership draws on teachers from Gig Harbor, Port Orchard, Bremerton, Silverdale, Poulsbo, Kingston, Bainbridge Island and Belfair.  Other teachers living in this area west of Puget Sound are welcome to join us as we continue to hone our musical performance and  teaching skills through master classes, recitals  and workshops, welcoming distinguished guest artists from universities and private studios around the state.
