||Bio for Leilani Montagne
Leilani has been teaching piano for nearly 35 years. After growing up in a very musical family, she became the regular church organist at the age of 12, accompanying congregational singing along with her mother who was the church pianist and music instructor. By the time she graduated from high school she had been the primary school accompanist and student conductor for both the concert band and select choir. She received her education from Washington State University, Central Bible College, and private piano instruction. In college she excelled in piano, vocal and instrumental arranging, and was involved in numerous performance groups traveling all over the United States and Canada.
She has since recorded her arrangements on nearly 20 professional recordings and CDs and coached many musical groups in regional and national church competitions; where some have won 1st place trophies. Leilani is currently the Minister of Music at Bayside Community Church in Kingston, Washington where she works regularly with a contemporary worship band and vocal ensemble. She teaches private piano lessons in her home and encourages playing by ear for personal enjoyment. She loves teaching children as well as adults and helping others to discover an appreciation for all styles of music.
